November 1, 2011 – Eight attorneys at Krokidas & Bluestein have been named as 2011 Massachusetts Super Lawyers: health care lawyers Jennifer Gallop and Robert J. Griffin; labor and employment lawyer Paul Holtzman; litigator Vincent J. Pisegna; and real estate lawyers Maria J. Krokidas, Kathryn Cochrane Murphy, Samuel Nagler and Elizabeth C. Ross. Two other attorneys at the firm have been selected as 2011 Massachusetts Rising Stars: real estate lawyer Sheryl A. Howard; and health care lawyer Emily Kretchmer.
Attorneys Holtzman and Griffin have also been named by U.S. News & World Report to its 2011 Best Lawyers in America list and have recently received other honors and appointments.
In November of 2011 Mr. Griffin received the Rx for Excellence Award from Lawyers Weekly’s Massachusetts Medical Law Report. In addition, the South Boston Community Health Center has awarded Mr. Griffin the Partners of Hope Award. Bob Griffin has been with Krokidas & Bluestein since 1985 and leads the firm’s health and human services practice.
In the fall of 2011, the Boston Bar Association appointed Mr. Holtzman to its Board of Editors. The Board of Editors is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Boston Bar Journal, the flagship publication of the Boston Bar Association. Mr. Holtzman, who has been with Krokidas & Bluestein since 1992, concentrates his practice in the resolution of employment and labor issues including sexual harassment, civil rights and discrimination. Over the past few years, Mr. Holtzman has represented employees in a number of high profile “tips” cases including a case featured in the October 10, 2011 Boston Globe article, Diverted Tips Case is Settled For $7m.
