SHERYL HOWARD

Sheryl Howard represents commercial, nonprofit and public clients in a variety of transactions, with a concentration in real estate and financing matters.

Sheryl’s practice includes advising clients in the acquisition, disposition, financing, and leasing of real property. In connection with her real estate practice, she has worked with a broad range of clients, including municipalities, redevelopment authorities, schools and universities, and a major telecommunications provider. She also counsels organizations, including hospitals, nursing homes, charter schools, educational institutions and healthcare and human service providers, in connection with corporate governance issues.

Among her many community service activities, Sheryl served as the treasurer of VISIONS, Inc., a nonprofit organization with offices in Roxbury, Massachusetts and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She also serves as the clerk of and as a director of ARTmorpheus, Inc., a nonprofit that strengthens the creative economy and operates the Fairmont Innovation Lab. Sheryl is a former Public Interest Leadership Program fellow of the Boston Bar Association, and she was one of a group of attorneys awarded the Robert B. Fraser Award for Pro Bono Excellence for 2005 by the Volunteer Lawyers of the Arts for the group’s representation of Fort Point Cultural Coalition in connection with the development of Midway Studios. She was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star by Thomson Reuters and Boston Magazine for the years 2005-2015.

Prior to joining the firm, Sheryl was an associate at Foley Hoag, LLP in Boston. She is a 1997 graduate of Smith College and a 2001 cum laude graduate of Cornell Law School.
