The ideal candidate will have a master’s or a bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of business and financial management experience in a law firm, professional services company, or similar organization. Qualified candidates must have previously served in a similar-level management role and have had direct reports. Required skills include strong verbal and written communications, critical thinking, problem solving, solid judgement and decision-making, being proactive and detail oriented with the ability to effectively manage change and conflict and comfort with financial management, accounting and billing systems.

The firm provides legal services to nonprofit, for-profit and public clients operating in the areas of health and human services, real estate development and finance, affordable housing, civil litigation, employment, and education.
Qualified candidates will have at least three years of experience in litigation, with health care experience preferred. The successful candidate will have top academic credentials, excellent writing skills, a superior work ethic, the ability to think strategically and the desire to undertake complex work. Massachusetts bar membership or the ability to waive in is required.
The attorney will have the opportunity to engage with clients spanning the health care continuum, including hospitals, community health centers, nursing homes, assisted living, support housing and human service providers, as well as individual providers. Areas of responsibility will include issues of governance, employment and compliance matters, survey and certification matters, licensing, credentialing and privileging disputes, peer review, HIPAA and privacy concerns, disciplinary matters and labor and employment issues.

Law Clerk — Tax
Boston law firm Krokidas & Bluestein LLP, a premier boutique firm, is seeking a tax law clerk for its nonprofit practice group. Primary responsibilities will include legal research, analysis and writing on the full range of tax issues relevant to tax exempt organizations, including qualification for tax exempt status, private inurement and private benefit, unrelated business income tax, executive compensation, cafeteria plans, joint ventures with for-profits, and tax credit financing.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in tax, and in working with nonprofit organizations. We represent a full spectrum of nonprofit organizations including affordable housing, health and human services, “friends of”, educational, historic preservation, religious, environmental, youth, and anti-poverty organizations, and nonprofit loan funds and trade groups.
An interest in tax and nonprofits is required, as is previous law clerk, intern or extern experience. Must have solid research and writing skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to organize, multi-task and work independently.
The pay rate for this position is $23/hour. Work will be performed in the office. Both part-time and full-time candidates will be considered, including current law students and recent graduates.
