Katie Burgener joined Krokidas & Bluestein LLP in 2017 and is a member of the firm’s transactional group. Katie concentrates her practice on real estate transactions with a focus on real estate finance.
Katie has extensive experience representing borrowers and lenders in a variety of real estate finance transactions, including construction loans, loans financed with proceeds of tax-exempt bonds and New Market Tax Credit transactions. She also advises clients in other areas of real estate ownership in connection with acquisition, leasing and disposition of multifamily, office and retail properties.
Katie’s community activities include being a member of the Cradles to Crayons Boston Family Advisory Council, a non-profit organization focused on providing kids with essentials and eliminating clothing insecurity. Katie is a Lecturer at Boston University School of Law in the Transactional Law Program.
Prior to joining the firm, Katie was a real estate associate at DLA Piper LLP for ten years. She started her career as a real estate associate at Brown Rudnick LLP.
Katie is a 1997 graduate from Colgate University where she studied religion and French literature. She received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2004 and an LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2005.
