Elizabeth Ross concentrates her practice in the area of commercial real estate finance and development.
In her over thirty years of practice, Liz has represented clients on all sides of real estate transactions. A focus of her practice is in representing institutional, public and quasi-public lenders in affordable housing and other multiparty financing transactions. Liz also has extensive experience representing developers and property owners such as charter schools, health care facilities and social services organizations in acquisitions, financings and other transactions. As real estate counsel to the firm’s clients, Liz provides expert advice in addressing zoning and land use requirements and title matters, in negotiating construction contracts and architects agreements, and in formulating condominium, ground lease and master lease structures. She represents both landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions for offices, medical offices, academic buildings, and retail and commercial space. Through her representation of several governmental agencies over the years, Liz has developed special insight into the unique challenges faced by public agencies in real estate transactions as well as by private parties in transactions with the government.
Liz has been named a New England Super Lawyer in real estate each year since 2011 and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Land Use & Zoning Law since 2014. Liz is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a nonprofit organization helping homeless, at-risk and runaway youth.
Liz began her practice at WilmerHale (formerly Hale and Dorr LLP), where she was elected to junior partnership in 1987. She also served as Special Real Estate Counsel to the Massachusetts Central Artery/Tunnel Project before joining Krokidas & Bluestein in 1994. Liz is a 1977 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and a 1982 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law.
