Local attorney serves as President of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers

(BOSTON, MA) March 2, 2016 – Boston-based law firm Krokidas & Bluestein has announced that Partner Kathryn Cochrane Murphy is now serving as President of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), the premier organization of real estate lawyers in the United States. Ms. Murphy began serving as President in January 2016. ACREL Fellows are elected to the organization based on their outstanding legal abilities, experience, and professional and ethical conduct.
“I am honored and delighted to lead the College, which promotes high standards of professional responsibility in the practice of real estate law, and provides cutting-edge continuing legal education to its Fellows, the members of the bar, and the public,” said Ms. Murphy.
Ms. Murphy has been an ACREL Fellow since 1993. She previously held the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and President-Elect, and continues to serve as a member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee. Over the years, Ms. Murphy has led and participated in numerous ACREL programs and committees.
In addition to leading and participating in ACREL presentations and committees, Ms. Murphy has served as a panelist in the ALI/CLE Modern Real Estate Transactions and Commercial Leasing programs, and has contributed to the ABA Mortgage Foreclosure book and the State-by-State Guide to Commercial Real Estate Leases. Since 2014, she has been included in the Best Lawyers in America list by U.S. News & World Report for her contributions to real estate law, and has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and appears in Who’s Who Legal. Ms. Murphy’s work in prominent local real estate projects has been recognized by New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).
